FROM VISTA TO NYC…

Hello from New York City.

I feel like I’ve been cramming for some sort of major test the past few weeks with all the slide shows I had to get ready, and the rest!

My goal was to get everything necessary done before Friday so Rory and I could enjoy one more day off before he headed home on Saturday morning. I was able to do that, which was great.

Friday, Rory and I went to Encinitas Acupuncture and Massage Center for a massage and a steam to start our day.

We decided to do a juice fast to give our bodies a chance to catch up inside so after our massage, we went out and bought some fresh squeezed juices.

That kept us going for the day until Vidya came and fed us a beautiful dinner.

Once we got home from our massage and steam, we both got into some artistic self-expression. I drew this mandala from a vision I had earlier in the day.

Rory drew this very cool drawing. I call it Rory’s Love Sword.

Love can be very tricky, as most of you must already know! What makes self, or other feel loved one day, may not do it the next day.

When we feel we are loving someone, even with our best intentions, they may have a completely different experience.

Sometimes we are loving one person the best we can, and some other gets jealous; it could be a child, friend, family member, etc.

At the end of the day, I feel it’s our “intention” that is the most important factor. Even if another doesn’t understand your love expression, as long as you are in touch with your intention, then you always know what the offering really was.

There’s some safety and security in that knowing.

LAST VISIT TO MY ROCK GARDEN FOR A MONTH

Saturday, after Rory headed to the airport, I want out for a good creative workout in my rock garden.

I love being there so much, the thought of not being able to come there to do my tai-chi and distress every day was a bit heavy for me.

After I’d finished creating some new stacks, Penny came down to visit me. The stack she’s peeking at me from behind is one of my new ones.

That one was a good workout though!

The gofers are out in full force now. It’s quite fun because I’ve watched them grow up from being little babies and now they aren’t afraid of me.

This one was so close to my feet while I was lifting rocks I almost stood on it.

I’m glad I didn’t because they have one hell of a set of teeth on them and it probably would have bitten me out of shock and fear if I’d have stepped on it.

The wildlife on our property is very abundant at the moment. I love it because it allows me to feel very connected to nature without having to leave my home.

Well, this is what I am use to seeing every day when I wake up and when I come home from work.

This is what I woke up to this morning!

Sit for a moment with the energy in my yard, then look at this photo and you’ll soon “feel” why I don’t enjoy coming to NYC at all.

I do it to share my living health philosophy with the people here because God Knows, you need a good healthy lifestyle to survive this place!

Here you can see that I was wise enough to bring Vidya to prepare some great food and help me teach HLC 2.

We shipped in our own SaladMaster skillet, which unfortunately, got damaged pretty bad in route. It still made a great breakfast, but our pan is definitely on its last legs.

SaladMaster cooking system, in my opinion, definitely makes the best cookware I’ve ever experienced. It’s made of very high quality surgical steel and is titanium clad, heats evenly, has great temperature control, is easy to clean, the really brings out the flavor of the foods. You can learn more about this amazing cookware at: www.cooking-4-life.com/chek

I was happy to walk to Bryant Park and find that they’d finally finished putting the grass down in the infield area of the park. It’s taken them over two years to finish the project and it’s lovely to be able to put my feet on the grass when doing tai-chi.

When we arrived at the hotel here in Manhattan, JP Sears was finishing his last day of HLC 1 with over 50 students in his class.

It gives me a great sense of Legacy when I see all the students with JP. I remember teaching JP as a CHEK Level 1 when he was only 19.

Now he’s out there teaching thousands of people all over the world each year how to live a vital, well-balanced life.

After class was over, JP came to visit us in my room. We were going to go out for dinner but I was too tired to bother and Vidya was out shopping so we shared the remainder of my travel food.

Before I left, Penny made me some lovely duck breast and added a vegetable medley that Vidya had made the day before.

I was pretty tired on the plane so I slept most of the way and didn’t eat much at all. That meant there was enough for JP and I to share and enjoy being still together.

It was great to visit with JP. Even though he’s a great friend of mine, and I trained him for many years, he’s now so busy out in the world I don’t get to see him much. Thanks for a great visit JP!

Well, that’s about it for now. It’s time for me to go find a gym with some decent weight in it.

After that, I’ll begin preparing myself for teaching HLC 2 tomorrow.

Vidya and I are off to visit my client and friend Jason Pickard, his father, his brother and their partners for dinner tonight.

Should be fun!

Love and chi,
Paul Chek
