zEN IN THE GARDEN

Blessed Monday To You!

I hope you all had a restful weekend.

Here is what the rock garden looked like before my zen In The Garden class started Friday morning.

I was up and at it early Friday morning in hopes I could finish building a new stone path into my rock garden before everyone arrived for our day of zen in the garden.

The job turned out to be much bigger than I anticipated; it took a lot of work to get the impacted soil out of the old cinder blocks.

Once everyone arrived, I shared some of the key aspects of safety in the garden.

I also shared some of the philosophy I’ve created and live around the spiritual opportunities that we can all gain when practicing unbound play.

Here you can see us choosing rattles for our opening harmonization session.

I often use rattling and chanting to get everyone harmonized together and open the right brain hemispheres for more effective access to instinct and intuition. We had some absolutely beautiful ratline and chanting together!

Before we started creating with stones, I thought I’d teach a basic form of tai-chi to harmonize breath, body and mind. Here you can see me teaching the group how to draw chi into their bodies.

To my left is Jeff Brion, Brent Martin, and Jeff’s beautiful girlfriend Rosanne Kline.

Jeff and Rosanne are working together to create their own healing center in the Laguna Beach area.

Jeff is a Chek Practitioner and he and Rosanne do a great job of living, exemplifying and teaching the CHEK Principles. They are both healthy, vital creative people committed to sharing a living positive lifestyle.

If you’d like to reach them and learn more about what they are doing and creating in their area, you can reach them at: www.feelingfunctional.com

Brent Martin has been a PPS Practitioner for many years now and is also a CHEK HLC2.

Brent has really flowered and created his own unique business. Some of you may have seen the educational videos he’s created for Bill Wolcott’s metabolic typing advisers. If you’d like to learn more about Brent and what he offers, feel free to visit his site: https://metabolicme.com/

One nice thing about being the teacher is that you can put your students to work. These stones I purchased for the path were surprisingly heavy!

I had a ton of them delivered and they were on a pallet by the street.

Since I couldn’t get the path done before everyone arrived, I asked everyone to help and in short order, we had the stones in working range.

I was able to get this far on the new path and will finish it after work this week. This is a fun form or artistic expression that really brings you back into touch with the earth. Very fun.

Then, we got busy in the garden.

Here you can see my brother, Dusty Goldscheider. Dusty is called “Dusty” because since he was a child, he always loved playing in the dirt and “being dirty”.

Dusty’s father is my step-father and we share the same mother. Dusty is nine years younger than I am so I didn’t get too much time to interact with him as a child because I was busy working on the farm while he was playing.

Dusty became a very skilled mountain biker in his teen years. Then he became certified as a mountaineering and caving guide as well as getting advanced life saving training.

He’s taught thousands of people how to repel, climb mountains and explore caves. He’s also very skilled with a chainsaw and until injured, worked in the forest industry.

Dusty and I don’t get too much time to visit, but it was really fun to have him with me for a few days.

In the above image, you can see some beautiful beach stones. Dusty showed up to class with a whole bag of stones he brought from the beach where he lives in Bellingham, Washington.

I had to laugh because it was the first time I’d ever had someone show up for zen In The Garden with a bag of stones!

Dusty is a very worldly man and has lots of great insights and experiences to share. If any of you would like to get to know Dusty, you can reach him at: [email protected]

Here you can see Evan Jerkunica. I think Evan’s done most ALL of the zen in the Garden workshops we’ve had!

You might have read his previous experience through his guest blog(s) on my Blog.

He really loves this form of learning environment. This image is titled “Evan goes large” because Evan has a tendency to stick to the small stones.

But this time, he “got brave” and created something much more physically demanding. As an online Marketer, Evan’s business comprises some really great info sites including Varrier ergonomically correct home and office furniture.

Evan does a lot of great networking and information sharing. If you’d like to learn more about what Evan offers, feel free to visit his web sites: https://probiotics.org/, www.depressionsymptoms.net

Here you can see some of the crew resting after a beautiful lunch. We all shared our lovely food together.

The sun was pretty hot as we were working so after eating, we all relaxed for a while as we collected the energy to get creative again.

Here you can see one of the stacks Jeff created.

Jeff has a lot of amazing artistic ability. If you see him with his shirt off, there’s no question he lives the Chek Principles! Great job Jeff!

Here’s Rosanne showing us one of her beautiful creations. She and Jeff were like busy bees creating beauty all around the garden.

I’ve gotten to witness as Rosanne took on the CHEK Principles in her life transform herself.

Though she’s always been a beautiful woman, she’s really developed a beautiful healthy body to go with her amazingly loving and creative mind. So lovely to see you again Dear!

Here you can see one of several creations Mary Oscutegu created.

Mary was a great addition to our group. She’s a beautiful woman with an amazing, passionate presence.

Mary works with new mothers and has a variety of services to help them. You can learn more about Mary’s offerings here: https://www.babyplannerinstitute.com/ Thanks for sharing with us Mary!

Here you can see Paul Leendertse from Toronto showing you one of his creations.

Paul is another repeater to this class and I always love having him. He usually creates things out of the biggest stones I have, but I think Troy got hold of them all first this time!

Paul’s an amazingly intelligent man who’s just finishing an excellent new book on cancer and all the causative factors and ways to understand cancer and address it holistically.

I’ll be writing a forward for his book, which is truly excellent! He’s another example of total health!

If you’d like to contact Paul to be notified of the release of his new book or find out more about his services, you can reach him at: [email protected]

Here you can see Troy Casey, The Certified Health Nut. I’m sure you’d find many of his videos on youtube.com very interesting if you get a chance to have a look!

I had to laugh because Troy has so much energy in him that he’s like a living, breathing tornado at times.

I think Troy sprinted around the garden and collected the biggest stones a man can carry, then, when he was tired enough to get into a zen-state, he created this amazing stack you see here.

Troy is a wealth of information and is also an expert on Amazon herbs. Great to have you with us Troy! You are always a guarantee that the party will be fun!

Brent Martin made this amazing spiral stack that looked like it was crowned.

Thanks Brent for spending the day with us, your energy was really wonderful!

Here you can see one of several stacks Vidya created.

I think Vidya can build a rock stack faster than anyone I know. I turn my head for a moment, and by the time I look again, “Presto!”, there’s a new creation before me!

Vidya was quite busy taking care of everyone’s needs, food prep and the likes so she didn’t build as many as she could have, but it as great to share the day with her. Lovely as always Vidya!

It was an amazing day in the garden with these beautiful, amazing people! I’m looking forward to our next one and hope to see some of you there too!

Here you can see what the garden looked like after the day was done.

I must say, this group left the garden the most beautiful and well balanced with regard to chi flow than the previous classes.

My neighbors are always very interested in seeing what happens when they see me teaching classes because they love watching the garden change.

It’s pretty normal for them to bring their kids by so they can see what has changed.

I love inspiring others to become more natural and creative in their play.

Saturday, my brother and I went to Encinitas for a massage and a steam. We did some toning in the steam room to balance our energy fields, and have fun of course.

After that, we went home and spent the day relaxing, doing art, and enjoying a nice fire in the fireplace.

Sunday, Vidya and Penny were both busy and away from the house so I stayed home and tried to earn some “Man Points” by cleaning up the yard, splitting lots of kindling and firewood, stacking wood, and making the home more beautiful.

I had one hell of a great workout splitting wood, moving wood, and working with the push broom and hose. By the end of the day, I was happy to create a fire and relax.

One of my friends and clients, Laird Hamilton was featured at 7:00 PM PST on Oprah’s Master Class program.

I feel blessed to know Laird and have participated in his life in training when he’s needed a little help over the years.

He and his wife Gabrielle Reese and amazing, beautiful people and I’ve always enjoyed helping them whenever I can.

Well, that’s my life since I last shared with you Thursday.

I’ve got a busy couple weeks ahead of me in preparation to start traveling and teaching again, but I look forward to sharing more with you on my blog as we go.

Love and chi,
Paul Chek
