HLC2 ~ A BUSY DAY!

Happy Thursday to ALL!

We had another productive day here in our NYC HLC 2 class.

The Bryant Park security were all over me because apparently, you need a permit to do any group function with 20 or more people. It takes 30 days to get a permit, which is a little challenging for us – especially since green space in NYC is scarce!

The security guard you see me talking to here was a cool guy. He totally understood my situation and said, “Sometimes we have to put up with some of the BS in the world, but I’ll do what I can to help you.”

He later phoned me and informed me that as long as I was there at 10:30 AM and we didn’t congregate, his superiors would allow it.

I had the students spread all over the park to practice their morning chi cultivation exercise.

It was quite cool actually because several other people just started joining in with us. The students noticed that and thought it was cool too.

We covered a lot of ground in class and everyone seems to be doing well with the materials overall. Lovely people in my class and I feel blessed to be able to share with them.

I know they will all go out and lead the world by example! Great work everyone!

After class, Vidya and I ran over to the NY Sports club for a quick volume workout of 5 sets of 10 with 225 off the box for deadlifts followed immediately by reptilian crawling. That felt great!

I jumped into the steam room for a good 15:00 sweat and then had a long cold shower before heading off to spend some time with my buddy Jason Pickard and his lovely girlfriend. His brother and his wife showed up just as I was about to leave but I really enjoyed seeing them again too.

I got to be a bit late for me, but I went to a local organic espresso shop and had half a shot or so with some butter in it and that turned the lights on!

Well, It’s time to go teach RIGHT NOW!

For those of you in England, or who are willing to travel to my new workshop on a holistic approach to TMD/J, I’ve put an outline below.

This course will be excellent for any C.H.E.K Practitioner, HLC, and all health and exercise professionals with an interest in this very complex topic.

Temporomandibular Joint Disorder – A Holistic Overview
By Paul Chek, HHP

Temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD) is common in any orthopedic, rehabilitation, dental or holistic health practice.

Unfortunately, there are a wide variety of etiological factors that are commonly overlooked by most doctors and therapists who treat TMD.

On June 19th, myself, along with C.H.E.K Practitioner’s Duncan Reeve and Jennie Delbridge, will share a comprehensive holistic overview of TMD.

I will address many of the often ignored, but critically important aspects of TMD as seen through the eyes of an experienced Holistic Health Practitioner.

Join me on June 19th in London to learn:
• The 10 essential steps in the C.H.E.K approach to holistic healing and coaching.
• A survival control systems approach to assessing any TMD patient. This will allow you to identify which essential regulatory/control systems may be the etiology of a TMD disorder. This information is essential to help specialized dentists and medical professionals know when, and to whom to refer their patients to optimize patient healing for long-term success.
• All about the stomatognathic system and how it functions and interacts with other essential systems in the body, as well as the survival control centers depicted in the C.H.E.K Totem Pole assessment system.
• How to determine when the basic needs of cellular life are not being met as a possible etiology of TMD. You will also learn to identify when not meeting these essential needs are likely to retard healing from any TMD disorder.
• How the limbic system of the human brain interacts with the somatic tissues of the body. You will learn to identify essential factors that indicate when your patient needs emotional-mental integration and gain valuable insights into how to begin the process.
• Many practical assessment tools that can be used immediately upon returning to your practice!
This program is applicable, and open to all healthcare professionals, allied health care professionals, C.H.E.K Practitioners and exercise professionals with an interest in understanding TMD holistically.

Attendees should come with comfortable, loose fitting clothes that allow free movement for practical group and individual learning exercises.

Cost: £150. Price includes lunch and refreshments.
