THE DIVINE OREO

Happy Thursday to You!

I hope your day is unfolding beautifully.

I had a lovely day yesterday. I finished my film project and am excited to have my office back to its normal bright, open self again.

Having all the windows and my sky light covered with tarps to keep the lighting strictly controlled for the camera really impacted my energy levels. I felt like I was experiencing seasonal affective disorder.

Now that the light comes into the office, I feel so much more alive inside; sunlight is a healer!

It was worth it though. I am pleased with the outcome of the project and very excited to share it with you when it is ready.

I had a nice pushing workout yesterday. I got in some heavy bench-pressing on a monster Swiss ball that can take all the pressure I can deliver.

I coupled that with some Swiss ball Bruce Lee push-ups for several circuits and that did the trick for the day.

I missed my morning tai-chi session due to having to meet deadlines, but had a lovely evening session, and then more art time!

THE DIVINE OREO

Oreo cookies
Well known to be addictive!
you can’t eat just one!

Beyond the crust is empty –
the middle bursting like the sun

Our galactic home
is like an Oreo Cookie
floating freely in the black of an unknown place, and
our little world is tucked somewhere
in the middle of this cookie
that flies through empty space

If we consume all that’s in the middle
we have nothing left to see,
for if all were black, there could be
no you!no me.

If we had no black,
we could not know white;
there could be no “life” – no day without night.
Sure the world would be sweet and bright, but
could we truly enjoy life if all were white?

Could we have a beginning or an end
if there were nothing in the middle to suspend?

The past is black, for
it is gone.
The future is black until
you are there to turn it on.

It’s only in the middle that you can truly see
that there is a “you”, and a “me”, yet
without the black, could we truly be?

We need some white in everyone, for
it is the light in us that gets things done.
We need some black in everyone too, for
we all need a rest from the dance of the sun.

Your fortune cookie
lets you see
that diversity is a part of you,
of me.

In the middle
is The Way
There we are the center
of the cosmic play, where
the black of night always gives way
for a brand new day.

There is no part, separate
from the whole, and thinking such
takes its toll.

Hopefully now, you can see
why these black and white cookies are so addictive!
they set us free, for what is
Love without polarity?

So there’s your message for today.
In case you didn’t understand, I’m proposing
the middle way
because I love the night, and
I love the day.
I wouldn’t want my life to be any other way,
for this is the nature of our cosmic play.

Love and chi,
Paul Chek
