“Monsanto Buster! Phone Application” and 6 Books worth Studying

Hello!

I hope you are all having a great day to day.

People frequently ask me what books I’m reading, or which books I recommend.

From time to time, I share some book recommendations on my blog, and lately, I’ve been through some great ones!

Today, I’ll share my thoughts and feelings about some resources I feel we should all be aware of, and more importantly, study! I also share a new technology we can all use to effectively vote against Monsanto’s dangerous ventures and non-foods… Lets get started!

New App Lets You Boycott Monsanto And More By Scanning Your Shopping Cart

NOW THIS IS A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION!

This little application allows you to use the bar code to access information about who actually produced, funded, or is “behind” any product. I’ve shared many times in my blogs and lectures around the world that I don’t believe we have a government.

In fact, here is a Chekism for you: “Govern-meant?” What we have are “corporate headquarters”, which is a fact echoing through many of the books I’m referring to here, and most legitimate books on health and wellness.

Voting is essentially choosing between one BS artist and the next. Voting for a president is not much different than choosing which arm you’d like amputated.

If you really want to vote, you do it with your wallet!

When we stop purchasing products that are either produced with chemicals and processes that are destructive to both the environment, and consumer, you are voting effectively. Putting the responsibility of making sure your food, water, medicines, technologies and environment are safe into the hands of government, and “purchased science”, is more dangerous than dangerous.

If you let them tell you what is safe, you will die slowly by believing and living in accordance with socially accepted norms.

If you believe what’s written on a piece of paper because the author has an advanced degree, then you are already showing the side effects of the kind of brainwashing the government and related bodies have infected you with!

Just think for a moment if you will, about how many of the drugs approved by the FDA’s scientists (largely corporate because the FDA actually lets drug/food/product manufactures do their own research!) had to be recalled because of untold numbers of serious injuries, illnesses, and deaths!

It is exactly this kind of “scientific thinking” that reflects modern materialism that Rupert Sheldrake addresses full-on in his newest book, Science Set Free: 10 Paths To New Discovery

By using technologies like this one, we can all “vote”. When you consider what the big farming and food conglomerates have done to publicly destroy the authentication “Organic”, knowing whose money is behind any food shines a great light of probably truth on it.

First of all, who is DR. RUPERT SHELDRAKE? Before I share my feedback on his book, I thought you should know something about this man.

Dr. Sheldrake is a biologist and author of more than 80 technical papers and ten books, including A New Science of Life and Dogs That Know When Their Owners Come Home. He was a Fellow of Clare College, Cambridge, where he was Director of Studies in cell biology, and also was a Research Fellow of the Royal Society.

From 2005-2010, he was the Director of the Perrott-Warrick Project for research on unexplained human abilities, funded from Trinity College, Cambridge.

He is currently a Fellow of the Institute of Noetic Sciences in California, and a Visiting Professor at the Graduate Institute in Connecticut.

He is married, has two sons, and lives in London. His web site is www.sheldrake.org.

I have had a deep interest in Dr. Sheldrake’s work for as long as I can remember researching, practicing, and implementing holistic health solutions for myself and others. His writings, commentaries, and research have always been very interesting and provocative.

Science Set Free: 10 Paths To New Discovery is available in book, or audio formats. I listened to it as an MP3 download and it was excellent. Dr. Sheldrake is the reader and he’s got a nice voice to listen to, unlike some audiobooks.

In Science Set Free: 10 Paths To New Discovery, Dr. Sheldrake does an incredibly honest, balanced job of both highlighting the benefits and advances of modern science as we know it, as well as the blind spots, closed-mindedness, dogma, and control dramas of scientific establishments and organizing bodies.

The book is an excellent offering to those with a “materialist” view-point, which just happens to be a HUGE percentage of the world population.

He shows very clearly how maintaining the materialist view of the world and science is actually “unscientific”; closed-mindedness is not aligned with the spirit of true scientific exploration. It is the antagonist of the scientific endeavor.

Dr. Sheldrake does the very best job of taking Richard Dawkins dogmatic views and practices down to ground level. From his own personal experience working with Dawkins, Dr. Sheldrake gives us a living example of the kind of minds that exemplify a scary percentage of university professors world-wide.

Dr. Sheldrake covers many different aspects of science, and explores a wide variety of research studies that were not only well-designed and well run, but provide evidence that our current belief systems are based on dangerously incomplete information.

One of the reasons we are all being led astray, and programmed to believe things that are either dangerous partial-truths is that much of what current, open-minded scientists are discovering is exposing the limitations and dogmas of modern science.

One way in which Dr. Sheldrake exposes the “establishment” is to share a wide variety of psychic or paranormal research studies and their findings. He points out rightly, that researchers in these arenas are under extreme scrutiny and prejudice by the rest of the scientific community.

Therefore, a lot of their research has been carefully engineered to meet the highest scientific standards, possibly anywhere in the world as far as any group of researchers goes. That said, major journals and governing bodies of science continue to downplay, not publish, and continue to stick to the materialist point of view, even when the evidence is right in their laps!

He is encouraging materialists, and the rest of us, to look very carefully at the evidence he presents, for it is the state of science and our world. What he shares gives us the ability to be truly informed on the pros and cons of the current scientific, materialistic mindset.

He encourages us all to look at the evidence, answer the questions he asks us to answer individually, and make an informed decision.

In my own career, I’ve had the challenge of many doctors, therapists and researchers challenging my methods and viewpoints more times than I can count.

In most cases, even when I presented either good research papers, or practical examples of my points, I was just blown off and ignored as some sort of flower-child, Wildman, or something of the sort – but they kept referring me patients because they kept getting better!

Oddly enough, some of the people that were the most vocal in opposition to me and my ideas ended up being my patients when they had health problems no one else “in their camp” could figure out.

It’s amazing to see what happens when a doctor or therapist who doesn’t believe in gluten intolerance spends a couple years bounding around in hospitals with all sorts of problems, only to find out later, from me, that they have gluten intolerance!

Some follow the program and get better, and share their new-found awareness. Some would rather have colitis than admit that they were wrong, so we let them keep getting cameras stuffed up their ass, drugs in their mouth, and an appointment for their 13th MRI, Cat Scan, or x-ray series…

On a rating scale of 1-10, I give Dr. Sheldrake’s book a 10! This book could be the seed of massive worldwide change in science and public awareness, particularly since he’s highly credible. Dr. Sheldrake’s scientific skills and abilities make him very hard to ignore, regardless of what degree you have, or where you graduated from.

Another book that I thouroughly enjoyed is The Secret Life of Your Cells, by Robert B. Stone, Ph.D

In The Secret Life of Your Cells, Stone explores the latest research of Cleve Backster, who by attaching a lie-detector to the leaf of a plant discovered that it had feelings and the ability to read our thoughts.

Now this ability – primary perception – has been traced over to disconnected single cells of our own bodies.

What millions of Americans saw reported on TV’s Incredible Sunday, Dr. Stone now shares in depth in The Secret Life of Your Cells. The implications and possibilities of that discovery, and the difficult struggle it has had in finding acceptance in the tradition-bound scientific community makes exciting, challenging, mind-expanding reading.

This book is easy to read, and is broken into lots of short topics and sections. The research of Cleve Backster is the very kind of research Dr. Sheldrake is encouraging us all to take more seriously. Cleve Backster gave us legitimate scientific evidence that we can’t ignore if we want to know the truth of ourselves and nature.

The research highlighted in this book will blow you away! Your life in a garden, in a kitchen, in nature, will never be the same again. You will realize how incredibly connected we all are to the myriad of life forms all around us and within us.

In this book, you can study Cleve Backster’s excellent recommendations for healing ourselves and others. There is also a section which referred to Dr. Sheldrake’s work, and others with supportive researches and theories.

For the students of the CHEK HLC and CHEK Practitioner program, this book will provide a lot of research backing many of the things I’ve been teaching for years.

Be warned up front, this book will change the way you see life forever! If it doesn’t, you are either an enlightened monk, saint, or Aboriginal Man Of High Degree, or you are in the death-grip of closed-mindedness. I hope it’s the first because we don’t need any more of the later.

Axe Adult Acne, By Leigh Brandon, CHEK Level 4, CHEK Faculty

Axe Adult Acne

Leigh Brandon is one of the most capable, intelligent people I’ve met as a teacher. He not only did the extensive course study, case histories, and advanced Chek HLC and Chek Practitioner training, he came through instructor training with flying colors.

I’ve encouraged all the Chek Institute instructors to share their clinical experience and expertise through books, ebooks, audios, videos, etc., because they have a tremendous amount of knowledge and skill among them.

Leigh has certainly been the most active among them, producing what is now a series of very high quality books on a variety of topics from anatomy, to stretching and exercise for tennis conditioning, to this new book, Axe Adult Acne.

In Axe Adult Acne (Available here: https://axeadultacne.com ), Leigh Brandon does an excellent job of explaining what causes acne, and how to use simple, natural approaches to healing this often emotionally debilitating condition.

Leigh begins his book by explaining his own painful, emotional challenges with acne, and how he overcame it. Leigh has been in clinical practice for well over a decade, and is a very good empirical researcher and practitioner. His offering is very important for both adults, parents, and his book can be read and understood by teens with acne problems as well.

I’m grateful to see my students producing such high quality information and I’m excited to announce that I give Leigh Brandon a 10/10 rating on the quality of his offering for information presented, and readability.

If you want to get rid of your zits, or your kids zits forever, this book will not only show you how to do it easily and naturally, it may be the book that guides you to healing many other problems you didn’t know were coming from the same sources as your skin eruptions!

Leigh offers a “free report” you can enjoy if you feel you need a sample of his offering before purchasing, which is available from his website: https://axeadultacne.com

Great Job Leigh!

One of the latest DVDs that Vidya and I have watched, Gut and Psychology Syndrome: Natural Treatment for Autism, Dyspraxia, A.D.D., Dyslexia, A.D.H.D., Depression, Schizophrenia by
Natasha Campbell-McBride was well presented.

The book of the same name is essential study material for anyone who is taking drugs for psychological, behavioral, or learning challenges, such as ADD, ADHD, depression, anxiety, and/or manic-depressive disorder, to name a few.

There is a lot of great information for parents with autistic children. Dr. Campbell-McBride is very experienced in the treatment of autistic children and shares the fruits of her deep investigations with you in her book.

Her book really applies to anyone with less than optimal health, and those wanting to maintain optimal health through restoring proper gut flora.

Dr. Campbell-McBride is a very practical woman, who is not only very qualified as a physician, but has a deep understanding of the applications of the methods in her own life.

She does a fantastic job of explaining the functions of the gut flora (microorganisms) and the current research on the subject. She highlights the many beneficial functions of our friendly bacteria and how they protect us from not only pathogenic bacteria, but help keep fungi at bay, and support immune function in many essential ways.

She is not only well versed, open-minded, and skilled as a physician, she has a deep understanding of the healing power of food. She also shares essential information all parents or expecting parents need to hear about vaccinations!

In her discussions, she talks about mercury toxicity, and how having a healthy gut can protect you from not only mercury, but most heavy metals and toxins of a wide variety of types.

I spent most of my time researching Gut And Psychology Syndrome by reviewing her DVD lecture on this topic given at a past Weston A. Price meeting, which is 90 minutes of excellent information.

The DVD is excellent and I recommend that too!

I have spent time looking through and spot reading her book, which expands greatly on her presentation and is well presented.

I have been teaching people about the importance of healing the gut and having beneficial flora since I had a full head of hair, so the information wasn’t a surprise to me.

What was a pleasant surprise was knowing that a woman of her professional qualification is now a key voice for cultivating awareness in both the medical community and public on this essential topic.

For information presented and authenticity of the presenter, I give the DVD a 10/10. For production quality, editing, and general presentation, I give the DVD presentation a 6/10, but don’t let that stop you from studying it!

For the book, I must offer her a 10/10. The book is well laid out, easy to read, and illustrated in a fun, informative way. I’d recommend looking at the DVD as well as having the book. She’s a very “wise” woman, and I feel that being in her presence (via DVD) will inspire you to not only read, but “apply” what she offers us all.

My newest read is by John N. Ott, Health And Light.

John Ott was the developer of time-lapse photography; much of his work was featured in Walt Disney nature films.

While working on these projects, he discovered the importance of lighting in growing certain flowers. Experimenting, he discovered that exposure to light and other radiations also affects animal and human growth. His research is causing science to revise its opinions about the therapeutic benefits of light.

The story of John Ott’s discovery of the role light plays in sustaining physical health is one of the true scientific breakthroughs of the last half century.

It is the story of an observant, intelligent man who acted upon his observations and then supported them with scientific exploration. Health and Light has led many people to a greater understanding of the subtle role light plays in maintaining physical and emotional health.

Though this book is loaded with very interesting research findings and information, I really felt as I was reading, that everyone, particularly parents should read Chapter 12: The TV Radiation Story.

This chapter highlights Dr. Ott’s research into the potentially damaging effects of radiation from TV’s, and shares cases of children suffering from fatigue, headaches, loss of sleep, and vomiting. He shows how the radiation from TV sets can be very damaging.

In complete congruence with the issues of science brought up by Rupert Sheldrake in Science Set Free, Dr. Ott shares his experiences with the TV and electronics industry. He shares with the reader what he found in his research, how he informed the correct people to try and bring light to the subject, and how they nicely swept his findings under the table.

This book also contains a lot of valuable information regarding how light affects human physiology. He talks about the effects of light and radiation on the pineal, pituitary, and other relevant glands.

This book is important for anyone truly interested in understanding how the human body-mind reacts to light, and how even minor differences in light sources, such as light bulbs can make a significant difference in your health.

For information, I’ll give this book 9/10, only because much of the research is from the 60’s and 70’s, but it is still very valid! The book was originally published in 1973, so it would have been very current at that time.

For the serious students, this book will inspire you to look deeper into the many subjects he covers, and you can use his paper trail to make it easier to find current, relevant references. Although the book seriously lacks diagrams or any visuals, I found it easy to read and enjoy.

Another book that I have recenly enjoyed is Cooked, by Michael Pollan. Some of you may be already familiar with his work.

I have read several of Michael Pollan’s books over the years. He is a very credible author, and is the author of five books: Second Nature, A Place of My Own, The Botany of Desire (which received the Borders Original Voices Award for the best nonfiction work of 2001 and was recognized as a best book of the year by the American Booksellers Association and Amazon), and the national bestsellers: The Omnivore’s Dilemma, and In Defense of Food.

A longtime contributing writer to The New York Times Magazine, Pollan is also the Knight Professor of Journalism at UC Berkeley. His writing on food and agriculture has won numerous awards, including the Reuters/World Conservation Union Global Award in Environmental Journalism, the James Beard Award, and the Genesis Award from the American Humane Association.

In Cooked, Pollan explores the previously uncharted territory of his own kitchen. Here, he discovers the enduring power of the four classical elements—fire, water, air, and earth—to transform the stuff of nature into delicious things to eat and drink.

Apprenticing himself to a succession of culinary masters, Pollan learns how to grill with fire, cook with liquid, bake bread, and ferment everything from cheese to beer.

This aspect of Michael Pollan is what I enjoy tremendously. He’s not just reading what other people have read on the topics he writes on. He gets out there and gets his hands dirty.

I truly enjoyed all the stories of each of the master chefs, bakers and fermenting experts he spent time with. He was also very balanced in his presentation, showing where big industry is both misinforming us, and misleading us, while at the same time not being dogmatic about it.

There is an amazing amount of practical information on cooking in his newest book, but I studied it for other reasons as well.

I wanted to learn more about how chefs use the elements of earth, water, fire and air. Well, it was worth it! I found many useful ways to better express the elements to my students by hearing what Michael learned and shared as he explored the elements from the perspective of chef, baker, and homemaker.

He does a very good job of exposing some of the corporate ideology and agenda with regard to things such as gluten, grains, milling of grains, additives, and much more.

I really enjoyed hearing and following along as he literally morphs himself into each of the roles he studies. In his lifetime he went from being a good ol southern barbecue boy, to an amazing chef in the kitchen mastering the pot and water, to multiple apprentice experiences with master bakers; and finally, several mad-genius “fermentos” (a tribe that includes brewers, cheese makers, and all kinds of picklers).

Pollan revealed how fungi and bacteria can perform the most amazing alchemical processes of all.

Not only do you feel like you are learning alongside Pollan, but the lessons move beyond the practical to become an investigation of how cooking involves us in a web of social and ecological relationships.

Cooking, above all, connects us.

The effects of not cooking are similarly far reaching.

Relying upon corporations to process our food means we consume large quantities of fat, sugar, and salt – as you know from my work. We have disrupted an essential link to the natural world and have weakened our relationships with family and friends because we are no longer in the kitchen preparing and cooking our food.

In fact, Cooked argues, taking back control of cooking may be the single most important step anyone can take to help make the American food system healthier and more sustainable. Reclaiming cooking as an act of enjoyment and self-reliance, learning to perform the magic of these everyday transformations, opens the door to a more nourishing life.

As I listened to Cooked on audio CD in my car, I was feeling a great sense of gratitude for Michael Pollan’s extensive body of research and writing. He has really done a tremendous amount in Cooked to put cooking at home and the importance of preparing and eating food together, with family, friends, or co-workers into perspective.

As you read or listen to this book, it will become very evident to you that the direction modern food processing (so-called “science” again…) has taken us, and continues to take us, is not only devastating to our essential family/tribal structure, it is turning us into addicted, uneducated, lazy, obese, and sick people who are losing touch (literally) with their roots.

I feel this book should be mandatory reading for anyone in the health and exercise profession, parents, or about anyone who is breathing!

I give the book and the audio a BIG JUICY 10/10! And, a Big Hug to Michael Pollan.

I hope you enjoy these resources. Any one of them could change our life, or save your life!

I don’t have a lot of time to read, but if I’m going to read, I like reading books with substance written by credible, balanced, open-minded authors. These books all fall into that category. Even a 15 minute a day of topic specific reading could be just the medicine you’ve been looking for.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Love and chi,
Paul
