The Fastest Way to Health Part 1
I know my last few vlogs have been running a bit behind, but I believe this new six-part series about the fastest way to health will more than make up for the delays.
If you really want to learn the fastest way to health, there’s a little homework involved. Still, this is a great way to get some free coaching from me which isn’t easy to get considering my schedule is pretty jammed these days between teaching classes, developing new courses and working with clients.
So, what is the fastest way to health? The truth is, very simply, being honest with yourself. But honest about what?
You’ve probably heard me say a thousand times that within all of us we have 4 Doctors.
- Dr. Happiness is our concept of what makes us happy in all aspects of our lives in every degree possible, from the way we earn a living or who we choose as a mate to how we play and relax and what we read and study. If you’re not doing things that make you happy, you’re doing the opposite. It’s really not that complicated.
- Dr. Movement represents your authentic need for movement with regard to maintaining your baseline health in relationship to your dreams. This specific Doctor relates to the movement of your body, emotions and mind.
- Understanding Dr. Diet means knowing what you need to eat for your own unique needs to keep yourself healthy.
- How you create adequate rest to regenerate your mind and to let your body recover from the stress of exercise and the work you do and any other stressors is where Dr. Quiet comes into the picture.
I Don’t Know…
I’ve coached countless people and students over my 32-year career and lectured countless thousands around the world. When I’ve asked people why they keep making bad health choices, the common answer I get is, “I don’t know.”
Before we get to the “I don’t know,” it’s important to define what health really is. Most people assume a healthy person is someone who has perfect skin, a beautiful body and perfectly white teeth.
I believe we need a more mature definition of health, so I’d like to share this one with you here that’s more grounded in reality…
Health is an honest willingness to engage your body-mind so that you engage body-mind challenges in life as an integral process of creating and living your dreams and accomplishing your goals and objectives.
It’s pretty normal for most people to end up with illnesses or diseases even when they’re doing things they love to do. Yet many people face unexpected challenges whether it’s illness or disease.
Healthy people engage those challenges as part of their own personal process of professional, personal and spiritual growth and development.
This is where having a “labor of love” comes in. If we’re not doing what we love in life, we need those illnesses and diseases to give us a forced vacation from doing the things we don’t love to do.
After you watch this week’s vlog, I hope you’re inspired to answer the questions I pose to you here, then prepare for part 2.
Next time, I’ll discuss Dr. Happiness and work my way around to the other Doctors in the coming weeks, then close this series by showing you how to integrate all of the information you’ve learned.
For those who want more support, I invite you to read my multimedia ebook, The Last 4 Doctors You’ll Ever Need. It will give you direction on what makes you happy and how to establish your core values and shows you some useful techniques (for example, how to breathe properly).
Also, my book, How to Eat, Move and Be Healthy!, features a series of questionnaires that evaluate your levels of stress in key biological systems and your overall levels of stress perception.
Then, it guides you to make the changes in each of these systems to balance your body and teaches you zone exercises that cultivate the right amount of life force energy for each of the systems you score highest on.
And, if you want more help, you should consider the CHEK Holistic Lifestyle Coach (HLC) Level 1 program which integrates the information from both books in steps and shows you how to use that information in highly practical ways.
If you get excited about what you learn and how you feel after applying this knowledge to your own health, you may want to become a professional Holistic Lifestyle Coach. (That’s what HLC 2 is designed to do!)
I hope you’re as excited about this series as I am! Have an awesome weekend, and I’ll see you next week!
Love and chi,
Paul
