CrossFit – Trial By Fire?

CrossFit continues to make the news due to escalating injuries occurring within their community worldwide.

I’ve shared my views on CrossFit, PX90 and related “ass-kicker” programs many times over the years and in a number of interviews where experts have asked my opinions.

In a recent article shared by the New York Post, researchers are warning that a potentially fatal kidney condition has been linked to CrossFit, and it is on the rise.

You can read the short article here:
https://nypost.com/2017/04/07/deadly-condition-linked-to-crossfit-on-the-rise/

This condition, called rhabdomyolysis, causes muscles to break down or leak, releasing a protein, myoglobin, into the bloodstream.

This, in extreme cases, can lead to kidney failure and even death.

Much in line with the mentality that goes with all the “death by exercise” approaches and personalities out there, some CrossFitters actually see getting “Rhabdo,” as they call it, like a badge of honor!

In my vlog today, I share how I feel about CrossFit and “ass-kicker” training methods in general.

I cover a simple Four Doctors/4-element approach and, naturally, a good old fashioned dose of common sense.

I hope you enjoy what I have to share today.

Zen In The Garden day, Live with Paul Chek, HHP

I am really excited to spend a day with you sharing what I love to do: To create a happier healthy you!

May 19, 2017
10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Investment: $500 per person
Escondido, CA

In this unique one-day workshop, I’ll help you learn to use your soul guidance and your instincts, enhancing your ability to connect to the wisdom of nature (the creative unconscious).

What would your life be like if you didn’t feel alone and always had the support of your Higher self and your body, and could read the language of nature (the creative unconscious)?

Zen in the Garden is my unique offering for participants to learn first-hand how to create balance, beauty, joy and peace in their lives.

Harmonization
The workshop will begin with harmonization exercises to calm and center us individually and as a group.

From a state of inner harmony, I’ll teach you how to access soul guidance so that you can hear your soul’s communication in the creation of rock and nature art.

Awakening To Your Current Life Path and Process
Once harmonized, I’ll guide you through a simple assessment of five archetypal symbols that influence the lives of all people so you can become conscious of:

1. Where you think you are in the flow of your life.

2. What your strengths are.

3. What your current growth process is (what is really going on in your life right now).

4. The underlying incentive that has provoked you to do things differently now.

5. What unfinished business you are ready to resolve and move past.

Creative, Artistic Expression With Stones and Natural Elements
With a connection to your soul and an awareness of the archetypal symbols that represent your current life path and process, then I’ll guide you to create your own archetypal symbols from stones and elements from the natural landscape at my beautiful Heaven House.

I will also teach you my unique Zen approach to creating rock stacks as a means of healthy, athletic and fun, outdoor creativity and play.

In this process, you will allow your soul to guide you and connect to the creative unconscious of nature as a dynamic partner in your co-creative self-expression with the natural elements.

Participants will leave with the joy of knowing how to access their soul (Higher self), use their instincts and become aware of how the unconscious within themselves and nature is always seeking mutual support in life.

You will understand the five key archetypal symbols and how to use them in your life, or in your professional practice as a guide, coach, therapist or physician.

Paul will show even the most athletic of you how you can get an amazing workout while, at the same time, creating beauty outside in nature.

This is your chance to learn simple principles in the garden that apply to the whole of your life.

Testicular Cancer and Cell Phone Use

Sadly, Testicular cancer has been linked to cell phone exposure among teenage boys.

You can read the article here:

I’ve been warning my students for years about the dangers of having phones on or near their bodies, water and food for many years.

It’s also helpful to use forms of protection. I highly recommend Aires Tech products for electromagnetic pollution conversion.

Aries Tech products convert the dangerous frequencies into frequencies that are “body friendly.”

I use them on my personal phone and computers.

We also use their Infinity/Defender card at home, and when we travel on airplanes. It really makes a big difference.

Of all the technologies I’ve tested, Aires Tech products are the best I’ve seen so far. We, Vidya, Angie, Penny and I use them.

Show-N-Tell with Paul

Angie and I celebrated our fifth anniversary together April 6.

So much has changed in our lives since we began our relationship that it’s really quite amazing.

Aside from the obvious — Mana’s joyful presence in our lives — we have grown a lot together, and as a family with Penny. We are excited to spend the rest of our lives together.

We enjoyed a lovely evening celebrating over dinner in Encinitas.

Above, you can see the painting I created for Angie for our anniversary.

Angie gave me the photo below of us together when she was close to giving birth. I really love the love emanating from our shared happiness.

It’s beautifully printed on a slice of a tree, which is quite cool.

Angie also gave me sculpting lessons. It was a great celebration. Thank you Babe! I love you!

Penny’s New Car!

Penny got a new Kia the other day, and she’s really excited about it.

It gets 50 mpg and has all sorts of cool features. She’s got two owners’ manuals she’s been studying!

Penny and Angie took Mana and Maggie to the park to meet me for a walk for their first ride in her new car.

When she arrived home, she had two sleeping beauties in the back seat! Trust me, “that’s great!”

I got out into the garden at home in Vista Sunday and fixed up some of my rock stacks that had been taken down by the wind and various creatures. They are all nice and pretty again, and the energy is beautiful in our garden.

My buddy Jason has been studying the Jungian archetype of the anima (soul quality of a male) and the animus (soul quality of a female), and created this cool painting to express what rose up in him as a result.

Cool painting Jason! As your painting shows very well, there is quite a story being told in each of us! Thank you for sharing with us all.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my blog today.

I look forward to sharing more with you next week.

Love and chi,
Paul Chek
