When I was very young and a competitive athlete, most of my friends were alcoholics. In fact, drinking was the drug of choice in many families where I grew up.

Any time I tried alcohol when I was a kid, I found it turned me into a shadow of myself. I just didn’t feel good drinking it and I watched my friends go to bars, all the time just to get drunk, start fights, get their teeth knocked out and act like idiots.

I cannot recall the first time I tried marijuana, but I loved how it made me feel. I could think straight, create things and experience crazy good workouts. When I was a budding triathlete, I would do anywhere from 20-100-mile bike rides smoking ganja and grind for hours.

Smoking marijuana made me feel as if I had a deep connection with everything going on in my body, my breath, my heartbeat.

In my practice, I’ve found marijuana to be very helpful in protecting people from the pain associated with emotionally challenging problems like physical or sexual trauma they had suppressed to stay alive.

In my video, I talk about the psychophysical processses involved in repressing things over the long haul so often that you become conditioned to feeling numb. So much so, that the circulation of blood to key areas like the heart and rib cage slows down and you’ll develop trigger points, joint pain and postural dysfunction.

After watching it, you’ll better understand why consulting with an expert like my good friend Ryan Sprague or me to find a very small dose of a quality strain of marijuana can help you ease emotional pain more effectively too.
