Tao Te Ching Verse 62 + What is A CHEK Practitioner

Happy Friday!

I hope you are going to create time for some unbound play this weekend.

I’m excited that many of my junior Faculty and CHEK Institute Staff are here to sit in on CHEK Faculty Jo Rushton’s HLC1 Course in Oceanside. Jo and I have been friends for many years and she is an amazing HLC Practitioner, Student, Chef and author of the book, Rocket Fuel on a Budget.

I’ll share more with you on Monday about Jo’s visit and the filming we did for her TV Chanel 4ME TV in Australia.

Today, I explore Lao Tzu’s wisdom as shared in verse 62 of the Tao Te Ching by Stephen Mitchell, and I share the video submitted to American Ninja Warrior by CHEK Practitioner, Alvaro Campos, CP1, HLC2 from San Francisco.

This is a fantastic video that I’m excited to share with you today.

Before we get to Alvaro, let’s visit “The Old Boy” Lao Tzu. (Note: to see the art, click on the image)

Tao Te Ching verse 62

Life Cycles

The Tao is the center of the universe, the good man’s treasure, the bad man’s refuge.
Honors can be bought with fine words, respect can be won with good deeds; but the Tao is beyond all value, and no one can achieve it.
Thus, when a new leader is chosen, don’t offer to help him with your wealth or your expertise. Offer instead to teach him about the Tao.
Why did the ancient Masters esteem the Tao?
Because, being one with the Tao, when you seek, you find; and when you make a mistake, you are forgiven.
That is why everybody loves it.

Today in my video, I expand on this verse, doing my best to share the fruits of my life of study and practice of all things spiritual.

I hope you enjoy Vrse 62 and my expansion or these great teachings.

What is a CHEK Practitioner?

I am often asked by people all over the world, “What is a Chek Practitioner?”

Naturally, I tell them that CHEK Practitioners are people trained to understand the body-mind as a holistic process and to evaluate and coach people to living their dreams holistically.

In general, CHEK Practitioners are open-minded individuals with a quest to better understand themselves and life, and share the fruits of their life-practice as living guides to their clients.

Today, I’m excited to share a beautiful video that overviews Alvaro Camops’ video application to being a competitor in the American Ninja Warrior competition.

I loved Alvaro’s video submission because it does a great job of showing the spirit, passion, and commitment to healthy living and leadership by example that I’ve always desired to see in all CHEK Professionals.

You will hear Alvaro’s story of overcoming injury, heartbreak, career change, and successfully reinventing himself as a “health Ninja”.

When I wrote to Alvaro congratulating him on his successes as a CHEK Practitioner, and more importantly, as a human being, he wrote back to me and said:

“Some of the credit of my success, aside from your courses, definitely goes to Rick Buchikos and Robert Yang; They have led this horse to water and I drank !! :)”

“Your teachings have truly changed my life in a radical positive way. My diet is superb. I have no pains anymore from dancing and I’m truly happy.

There are things I’d like to improve but that just takes time like anything else and as long as I chip away them I will get there!”

As you will see in this video, Alvaro has utilized my teachings, and the support of Rick Buchikos and Robert Yang very effectively, and is a great inspiration to all.

When I get to see my CHEK/HLC/PPS Practitioners grow like this, it gives me great joy and a sense of deep connection to my Legacy.

I hope you have a lovely weekend!

Love and chi,
Paul Chek
