MORE FILMING, REST, and RUMI

Hello and Happy Monday To You!

Well, I’ve been busy. Friday I got a great massage from Wes Boyce and steam and then spent the rest of the day working on a new test for my HLC 2 students. I took the day off of exercise because my body wanted rest.

Saturday, I did some light pumping exercise in they gym because I still didn’t feel ready to “work-out”. I met David Sharps, producer and director of an excellent documentary titled “The Cure Is U” and his camera man, Chris at my office.

We spent several hours filming a series of short clips of me sharing my views and methods for easy, effective healing that could be used in the movie, which is in it’s final stages of production. I’ve seen the most recent edition of the film and all I can say is that it is definitely among the top 3 documentaries on healing and living I’ve ever seen to date.

I’m very grateful to be featured with such an incredible cast of contributors, such as Bruce Lipton, Marianne Williamson, Bernie Siegel, and many more. As soon as the film is released for purchase, I’ll be sure to let you all know on my blog.

While David was here filming, we also did another film shoot titled “The CHEK Approach To Nutrition In a Nutshell. David Sharps plans to offer this as an added value product with the movie and I’m glad he’s asked me to contribute that way.

I outlined the ten essentials of eating healthfully. We will also be offering that program through the CHEK Institute once we get the footage back from David.

We are working as fast as we can here at the Institute to put presentations from the recent CHEK Conference up for your viewing on our on-line education platform. We will inform you as soon as new sessions are made available. They are all really great presentations and I’m excited to bring the conference to you in your own home on your own time schedule!

Sunday, I was quite tired. All I had the energy to do was go for a walk in the hills for about an hour and a half. I just enjoyed being with nature and meditating as I walked.

I sat in my rock garden and read about Bio-geometry most of the day. Later, when Vidya arrived, I did some simple art and then relaxed with her and Penny as we enjoyed some great food.

Today I’ve got my plate full with deadlines and meetings. I’m also preparing to teach HLC 3, which starts here in Vista this Wednesday.

I’m looking forward to sharing this important, helpful information with my students and helping them get deeper into their own healing as part of their professional commitment to themselves and their clients.

 A Poem From Rumi

For your Soul’s sake,
For your head’s sake,

Don’t leave us like that, Beloved.

O walking cypress, show that
Stature to us.

Cheer and illuminate the dirt floor,

Show another sun to the roof of this sky.

Make the Soul knowledgeable,

Guide, fill the mines with gold.

Give an earthquake to shake

The bottom of the ocean.

Even the sun takes shelter
Under the shadow of your kingdom.

Is there any other way to go
Under the shadow of your blessing?

My dear friend, the one who
Has a bad idea, that idea does not suit him well.

The incapable, lazy ones,

Are lazy and incapable of love.

You are the mercy of the Merciful God,

You are the salve, the remedy.

Give us the medicine which controls

The bile, like a doctor.

You are the nightingale of the rose garden,

The cupbearer of good people.

You listen to the secrets.

At the same time, you have no head, no feet.

My God, what do You have there?

You are spring with your kindness.

You put the granite stones

And the rocks to work.

You shine with such a light,

You instigate such mischief,

That hundreds of floods

Are unable to calm that.

COMENTARY:

In essence, Rumi is having a conversation with God about the human condition. Rumi is sharing the Majesty of God and the challenges of human life:

Even the sun takes shelter
Under the shadow of your kingdom.

Is there any other way to go
Under the shadow of your blessing?

Here, I feel Rumi is explaining the Greatness of God, yet, expressing that we get caught in our ego-minds:

Is there any other way to go
Under the shadow of your blessing?

Which traps us in bad ideas, and being lazy with regard to what really matters in life, which is our opportunity for spiritual growth:

My dear friend, the one who
Has a bad idea, that idea does not suit him well.

The incapable, lazy ones,

Are lazy and incapable of love.

Rumi then asks God for the medicine (spiritual strength):

You are the mercy of the Merciful God,

You are the salve, the remedy.

Give us the medicine which controls

The bile, like a doctor.

Next, Rumi explains in his unique way that God is CONSCIOUSNESS:

You are the nightingale of the rose garden,

The cupbearer of good people.

You listen to the secrets.

At the same time, you have no head, no feet.

Here, Rumi is praising God’s Genius and Kindness; he is Unconditional Love, and from his Infinite Intelligence, he made our bodies out of stones:

My God, what do You have there?

You are spring with your kindness.

You put the granite stones

And the rocks to work.

Rumi is closing by chiding God. He’s saying that God’s Brilliance, Truth and Love are such that they instigate much debate, battle and confusion among mortals as to cause LOTS of trouble; that trouble is necessary to give us encouragement to look deeper, to go behind the surface of things and experience the blessings of the mischief that is so great, hundreds of floods are unable to calm it:

You shine with such a light,

You instigate such mischief,

That hundreds of floods

Are unable to calm that.

It is my hope that you abosrb Rumi’s wisdom and are inspired to go deeper into relationship with your own soul so you can better understand the nature of mind and enjoy your spiritual life more fully.

Enjoy your day!

Love and chi,

Paul Chek
