Balancing Mind and Emotions (Pt. 1)

Happy Monday to You!

I hope your weekend was restful and fulfilling.

I had a fantastic, but busy week and weekend coaching clients and attending business meetings.

My work continued with Jason over three days; I posted some photos on my last blog. On Thursday evening, Jason’s mother, Nancy arrived, along with our first rattlesnake this spring. I found that an interesting synchronicity.

There are many correlations in Native American heritage relating to coming across snakes. Interestingly, one of them is rising feminine energy. Some others I found relevant are rising life-force energy, improved or awakening healing powers, learning better boundaries, and the snake represents the Medicine Man in some Native American tribes.

This was Nancy’s first Native American healing session with me. It is my usual practice to begin all my Native American healing sessions by having my clients create an “I AM” mandala.

Nancy's I AM Mandala

As an art therapist, I can read a person’s art in a similar the way others read books, but reading art is much more like reading poetry. There is a fair bit of symbolic knowledge needed for interpreting artistic images, and the person doing the interpreting has to be careful not to project their own biases or programming onto the art, which is probably the most challenging aspect of art therapy interpretations.

I love being empty, so that has really helped my accuracy.

As you can see by looking at Nancy’s mandala, she’s already a very evolved woman. Here own words and images are healing to anyone that looks at them.

Her love of nature and people is strong and her use of symbols suggests that she has acquired a lot of life wisdom from her challenging and joyous experiences. To have Nancy here with her son, Jason, was quite a beautiful experience for a mother and son to go through together.

Jason is one of the most incredible human beings I’ve had the pleasure of working with, as is the case with his brother, Jared. Meeting the mother of these amazing men gave me insight to where much of their wisdom and beauty comes from. I’ve met Jason’s father as well, and he’s a highly intelligent, loving man too. How amazing to see the adult children of loving parents!

Stork walk Nancy Paul
I taught Nancy the Stork Walk tai-chi form that I often use for beginners because it is very easy, and very powerful. After a few refinements, she and I were breathing and moving as two storks in harmony.

Breathing and movement
As part of my training for Jason’s mother, I taught her how to marry breathing and movement as a means of balancing the brain rhythms with the heart and intestinal rhythms. This simple practice opens a doorway to the realms of the unconscious mind.

When one learns to stay awake, this practice allows us to see into nature and ourselves. As the ego-mind calms, the lens of awareness opens and it can feel as if you are truly seeing the world as it really is for the first time in your life.

Dr Quiet time
Here you can see Jason and Nancy enjoying the beautiful, grounding and healing energies here at my Heaven House.

Dr. Quiet is the Chief of energy cultivation in my system of healing. Many of my clients are surprised when I encourage them to take naps during our healing days; they are so used to being in an academic/industrialized environment that is scheduled to the minute and full of pressure.

I have found that a tired student is a student that can’t remember the teachings. We made sure we visited Dr. Quiet so all experiences were vivid, fresh, and memorable.

After we rattled and chanted for about an hour and a half, practiced tai-chi, breathing and movement, and rested, we all created a mandala to express our love and intentions for sharing this moment in our lives.

This is the mandala Jason, Nancy, Vidya and I created together. If you double click on it, it will enlarge for you.

Try sitting a few feet or more back from your computer screen and emptying your mind so you can “feel” what’s being shared with you through the light. If you let your eyes go to a soft, unfocused gaze, you will be able to join us on this special day and enjoy the healing energy we created among us as our gift to you.

Jason Paul Vidya and Nancy
Here we are at the end of our journey together. This was day three for Jason and the end of Nancy’s first day working with Vidya and I together.

We are standing in the stone labyrinth Jason and I created; this is where we did a lot of rattling and chanting and meditative slow-walking.

It was a very powerful experience we had together; Vidya and I are continually referring back to the many special moments shared with such beautiful people committed to their growth. We so enjoyed working with, and being with them!.

I know we will have many more beautiful days like this together and I’m excited that they can share their new experiences and love with the rest of the people they love.

I had to do a special good-bye shot with Nancy. She’s one of the most well-balanced, fit and vibrant ladies in her age group I’ve ever met.

It’s pretty awesome when you are laying outside with your client’s mother and you look over at her to see washboard abs and the kind of lean muscular body normally only displayed in fit female athletes in their youth. Great Job Nancy!

Jason & Nancy Journey Conclusion

As I sat at home Sunday night after resting a few hours, I had the urge to draw this expression of my three days with Jason, and about a day and a half with his mother. The black represents transformation, while the red represents strength, safety and security, the power to enliven, transport, and connect. Our time together was so balanced and flowing, it was like a dream that paradoxically never happened, yet at the same time was strangely more real than my sitting here typing this blog to share with you.

I have the great joy of extending myself and sharing my knowledge with people, yet at the same time, getting to learn to love and grow more naturally and beautifully myself in the process. Even though I’ve been coaching people for 29 years now, I continue to be amazed at how much growth, knowledge and wisdom I gain from each client.

Sunday morning, I went to a business meeting with my friends Ethan and his wife Marisol, Josh, and a number of other beautiful children and people. We enjoyed great food at a beautiful estate in Rancho Santa Fe. We shared ways we could work together to offer humanity the support it needs more than ever to know how to make healthier choices in their lives. I also got to work with a beautiful baby with cerebral palsy, and with Ethan and Marisol’s beautiful daughter, who is a gymnast and swimmer. We had a lot of fun together.

Thanks for all your love and sharing everyone at Ethan and Marisol’s beautiful breakfast meeting!

I feel blessed to have such amazing friends and clients.

BALANCING MIND AND EMOTIONS (Pt. 1)

The blog today is a great look into my approach for balancing mind and emotions.

You can see that I’ve shared the importance of being consistent with Dr. Quiet to get adequate sleep, rest. Sleep deficiency is one of the most common reasons people’s mind and emotions are imbalanced.

As our energy levels diminish, we soon get to the point where there is competition between our essential biological survival systems (nervous, hormonal, digestive, eliminative, limbic, circulatory, immune, etc.) and activities of mind for energy.

Once that competition for energy and resources begins, our emotions reflect the insecurity created within ourselves as our essential survival systems become taxed.

Sleep is free and you are likely to spend huge amounts of energy, time and money chasing doctors, therapists and pill vendors around trying to balance your mental-emotional state when rest is often what is needed!

You can also see (particularly if you read my blogs or study my teachings regularly) that learning to breath and move correctly is essential to create body-mind harmony. Below is Jason doing tai chi the other morning.

Jason tai-chi

I share a lot about how you can do this for yourself in my book, How To Eat, Move and Be Healthy!, and I even have video demonstrations of how to breath and move in my ebook, The Last 4 Doctors You’ll Ever Need – How To Get Healthy Now!

For those of you interested in learning more of the methods I share, you can enjoy a whole day of fun learning and growing experiences in my upcoming zen In The Garden workshop. The theme of the next zen In The Garden workshop is managing your fire!

In closing today, I’d like to point out something very simple and true with regard to balancing mind and emotions from my studies of Arnold Patent’s Universal Principles:
“You must conceive of life in ideal terms before you can live it that way.”

For many people, this process isn’t as simple as it is for others.

I created PPS Success Mastery Lesson 1. How To Find and Live Your Legacy as well as my program titled, The 1-2-3-4 For Overcoming Addiction, Obesity and Disease to help people through this essential healing stage.

Thousands of people have benefited from these highly practical lessons and you can too! Now’s your chance to take some real action and get moving into the life of your dreams.

Heaven awaits!

Love and chi,
Paul Chek
